Due to the global shortage of cardamon and the sky rocketing of prices I've had to reduce the amount of cardamon used in my Chai Masala by 50%. The alternative is stopping making it. In addition, though not a substitute I have added some coriander to keep our taste buds tantalized.
When Guatemala recovers from their rains & floods and export of cardamom picks up again next year, my intention will be to return the cardamon to my Chai.
The change is disappointing but a necessity.
